Did you get the Error Code 36 and having issues with this error code when you are transferring files on Macbook Pro Retina Mac OS X? Here is the solution how to resolve this issues. Please follow the instruction below.
Step 01. Go to Finder > Applications > Utilities > Terminal.
Step 02. Type dot_clean in the terminal windows and Type Space (Do not hit enter yet).
Step 03. Drag the folder or USB or External Hard drive that displays error code into the terminal windows.
Step 04. Hit Enter and Give it an another try. Should be fine.

i did it and this is what i get :
Failed trying to change dir to .DocumentRevisions-V100
Bad Pathname: Permission denied
Failed trying to change dir to .Spotlight-V100
Bad Pathname: Permission denied
Failed trying to change dir to .Trashes
Bad Pathname: Permission denied

Try to format your external hard drive and try to copy files again. (Don’t forget to backup first)
you cant be serious. (try backing up first)
obviously the problem is that we can’t copy files from the drive. so how do we “backup” if we can’t copy!?!?!
