Dell E6400 hard drive & RAM upgrade (replacement) – October 15, 2015

Today, we had to change memory on Dell E6400 laptop. Replacing memory or hard drive can be done by yourself. You do not need to bring your computer to a computer shop all the time. Don’t worry. No disassembly required here. Let’s find out how to replace memory & hard drive on Dell E6400 laptop.

Here is the Dell Latitude E6400 laptop. We are going to change a memory today.

Let’s see the underneath the laptop. Before you go ahead and do anything, please remove laptop battery first.

There is a screw in the middle of the laptop. (bottom side) Remove the screw.

If you see the right bottom side of the laptop, there are two more screws. Remove these two screws. It will let you remove the hard drive from the laptop.

You can take the hard drive out from the side. Hard drive slides out.

Remove the bottom cover. It is pretty easy to remove the bottom cover. Now, you have access to memory slots. Dell E6400 has two memory slots, so if you have extra slot, you can add more RAM.
