Even with the power and right connection, your printer may be at offline status in Windows 10. (this problem also happening on Windows 8 and Windows 7) The troubleshooting also works with Windows 8.1 and Windows 8. So, try these on Windows 8 too. How to fix printer offline problem in Windows 10 & Windows 8
1. TURN ON âNETWORK DISCOVERYâ AND âFILE AND PRINTER SHARINGâ
In the Windows Search bar on the taskbar, type “control panel” and click it.
Go to “Control Panel” —> “Network and Sharing Center” —> on the left side menu —> “Change advanced sharing settings” —> turn on “Network discovery” and “File and printer sharing”
2. Disable âUSE PRINTER OFFLINEâ
In the Windows Search bar on the taskbar, type “control panel” and click it.
Go to “Control Panel” —> “Devices and Printers” —> find and right click your printer —> “See what’s printing” —> click “Printer” and if “Use Printer Offline” is enabled, disable it by clicking once.
3. Check the printer connectivity
In the Windows Search bar on the taskbar, type “control panel” and click it.
Go to “Control Panel” —> “Devices and Printers” —> find and right click your printer —> “Printer properties” —> click “Ports” —> in here, you can see the printer’s connection settings —> Make sure that your connection type is right (If you connect by USB cable, make sure that the USB connection has been selected. If you connect by wired or wireless, make sure the ip address setting is right. For example, if your printer’s ip adress is 192.168.0.100, your TCP/IP port ip address has to be 192.168.0.100 too.) If the configuration is wrong, the printer offline problem can occur.
