07. Right Click on the SID Keys with .bak and Click Rename. Then Remove .bak at the end of the number and Hit Enter.
08. Right Click on the SID Keys with .bk and Rename it to .bak (.bk -> .bak)
———————————————————————————————-
09. Select the SID Key without .bak and Double Click on the RefCount in the right pane. Type 0 to value data and then click ok.
10. Select the SID Key without .bak and Double Click on the State in the right pane. Type 0 to the value data and then click ok.
11. Close Registry Editor and then Reboot your computer. Check if you still get the error message while logging on.
Any way how to resolve this ?
In my profile list at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
I have 3 profiles and none of them ends with .bak or .bk
Please let me know how to resolve it.
how many accounts do you have on your computer ??
I have had a similar problem with a PC on a domain. Users could not logon. They had no profile on the PC but still got this message.
To overcome this I had to login as myself and right click on a folder and select the Security Tab. Once this came up try finding the Effective Permissions for the user account. This then forces the system to talk to AD to determine the user and their permissions. Log off your account and try to login with account that is having issues. Hopefully this helps.
