Same here. I cannot use IAP on my Samsung phone with Jelly Bean 4.2.2. Followed the steps above three times, but still getting the error message RPC:S-7:AEC-0
Interstingly enough I bought stuff on that very same Google account yesterday evening from another device (AT&T tablet with Honeycomb 3.2) without any issue, which makes me think the problem is device-related and not account-related.

Hi i really need help from you guyz. Its been one week since ive got a message error retrieving information and i have done all of the above. It has not worked. Please help.
Nothing worked for me.
I accidentally solved it this way:
1- Removed the Google account.
2- Re-entered the Google account details but instead of writing @gmail.com I accidentally hit enter and went on to enter the password.
3- Logged in and everything was back to normal.
I think what the system was automatically doing in the background was putting the login as: username@gmail.com@gmail.com
That is repeating the @gmail.com twice.
Happy days!
NB my device is an old Toshiba tablet we use for the kids
Thankzzzz
“””” A Fix For Not Being Able To Download Or Install Apps From The Google Play Store
For People Who Have Tried EVERYTHING And It Still Doesn’t Work !!!!!!”””””””””
To keep a long story short, I had decided to start using an older Android phone of\my wife’s. So I decided to factory reset it so I could start fresh on it. Well after it restarted it immediately began to bitch about not being able to connect to server. Then when I opened the play store everything I tried to download was Error retrieving information from server. I tried everything I could think of but nothing worked. Then hitting the forums and trying everything listed in them at least 10 times. So I was about to just give up then my little voice said try this one last thing and to my surprise it WORKED. Everything was working, updating and downloading. Here are the step to what I did.
1. Remove all accounts and yes this means do a factory reset
2. Restart the device
3. After start up DO NOT and I mean DO NOT create, link or sign in using your google account info. Hit skip this step and let the device fully start up.
4. After is has started and you have a data connection open the Play Store
5. At this time NOW sign in with your google account info.
6. Just sit back and enjoy watching the updates come zooming in.
I don’t know why this worked or how but it worked. I am posting this so that others who are as frustrated as I was, might have a chance at PEACE. May this post save others and lead to calm.
FEAR SUX! I see replies, some great it works, some nay, no work!
For me the result of not working after all the step of removing what is there, the ill functioning google scat!
the limited functionality it provides allowes my internet to still function.
netflix, youporn, unlimited 3g data.

unable to even get on line, thats what the scabs at verizon are pushing for.
sounds dumd? its all almost totally free based on an old existing account im working off.

so long im on line im sticking it to verizon, so up there ass i climb till i come out the top!
