I believe there is a bunch of people struggling with the error code 505 on Google Play Store. The error code 505 is usually occurred when downloading & installing & updating due to data crash. What we are going to do is to clear all the data & cache regarding the Google Play Store. It’s not that difficult to do this. Please follow the instruction below!
01. First Method – Clear all cache and data
01. Go to ”Settings” -> “Applications” -> “Manage Applications” and select “All”
02. Go to “Google Services Framework” and select “Clear Data & Clear Cache” to remove all the data regarding Google Service Framework.
03. Go to “Google Play Store” and Select “Clear Data & Clear Cache” to remove all the data regarding Google Play Store.
04. If you still see the error message, Let’s try the second method below!
02. Second Method – Remove and Add Your Google Play Store Account.
01. Go to “Settings” -> “Accounts” -> “Google” -> Select “Your Account”
02. Go to “Menu” and Select “Remove Account”, and then “Add Your Account”.
03. Now “Restart” your mobile device and try to perform update or download.
04. Done! Hope everyone solved the problem through the instruction!
These steps did not resolve the issue. After the lollipop 5.0.1 update one particular application was missing, when tried to install got the – 505 error. Contacted the developer & no help.

Thank you! Worked perfectly after I deleted my account had to add a variation to your steps in option 2
Deactivate account, restart, add account, restart, launch Google Play > update app(s) causing the 505 error.

I have same problem of this but i have android 6 and accoridng this stpes > dont warking 🙁

Second method worked for me. SDK tools adb shows the error was INSTALL_FAILED_CONFLICTING_PROVIDER. I think It’s because the apps has already been installed but hidden. So I cannot install/update it again.
Still not working for me, eventhough i’ve tried all the solution, someone please reply what to do
Have you tried all the solutions ? Then try to backup everything and do a factory reset ?
