It’s because you install more applications on your PC, and many of modern apps also install and run background apps for easy access, faster loading, and better experience, but downside of it is these startup programs use your computer’s resources like memory, processor, and storage. The information that we are sharing today will help make your computer performs faster by disabling startup programs! Of course, there are many reasons and factors for a slow computer, but disabling Windows startup programs probably will result in shorter Windows loading time because Windows does not need to load many programs while it starts. Disabling startup programs in Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 (Also Windows 8)

 

There are several ways to do this. First method is opening Windows Task Manager by pressing multiple keys on your keyboard. You need to press:

“Ctrl” + “Alt” + “Delete” key together at the same time. When you successfully pressed those keys at the same time, your computer screen will display something like this picture below. You will see Windows options such as “Lock”, “Sign out”, “Change a password”, “Switch user”, and “Task Manager”.

Click “Task Manager”. to open Windows Task Manager. Second method is to type “Task Manager” in Windows Search Bar, and just click the Task Manager to open it.

When you click that, you will see something like the picture below. If you look at the upper section of Windows Task Manager, you will notice that there are tab style menu items. Find and click “Startup”. This will display all of registered startup programs.

In here, you can disable or enable startup applications. Take a look at the Status field, and the startup impact field. By looking at the Status field, you can tell whether the startup program is enabled or disabled. In easy words, enabled means active, and disabled means stopped. Next is the Startup impact. This shows the impact of the startup program. If it says high, it means the program is highly affecting the Windows startup performance. You should look for startup programs with high startup impact, and disable them if you do not need. Make sure that you do not disable important startup programs. Select an startup item, and click “Disable” button to disable. That is it! You just learned how to disable Windows startup programs!
