How to test my download and upload internet speed ?
Since the internet has open to public, the internet industry grew really fast. We do remember the time when we play online games with our friends using 56K dial-up modem. (telephone line) We know that many of you will remember the scratching sound of modem when it communicates. 😀 😀 😀 After few years, we had faster internet lines like DSL, and fibre cable. The internet speed became lot faster now that the old days, but people are looking for faster and faster speed due to high quality contents on internet like full HD movies, and games. So, let’s find out how fast my internet is! There are many ways to check your internet speed, but we will learn just one way of doing it.
Before we begin internet speed test
1. Your computer must be connected to internet wireless or wired. Wired connection is more accurate. Please connect network cable if available.
2. This will work only on devices that support adobe flash. It won’t work on some devices which do not support adobe flash.
Are you ready ? Let’s go and check the speed.
- Open a web browser (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or any web browsers)
- Type “www.speedtest.net” in the address bar.
- You will now see the speed test website.
- Click “BEGIN TEST” to test your download and upload speed. It will connect to a server to test your speed.
If your downloading speed is below 10 mbps, it is good for casual internet use, but it is not fast enough for watching movies or playing heavy online games. We do recommend you to have at least 15 mbps internet speed. (you will need to contact your Internet Service Provider to upgrade your internet service.)
