Browsers use internet explorer settings so regardless….I tried so many solutions to fix the proxy server problem and finally realized what I had suspected from the beginning. Only the administrator can change those proxy settings from use proxy server back to automatic.
On the task bar, right click the internet explorer icon. In the pop up menu, once again right click the internet explorer. Select run as administrator. Click allow this program to make changes, if you are prompted. You can now fix the problem, if it didn’t fix itself already. Go to settings, internet options, connections, lan settings, then uncheck use proxy server, and check automatically detect settings.
Thanks this problem had been kicking my butt. Every time I would change and save the options they would never take. Thinking that this is my personal PC and I am the administrator. Worked perfectly.

If you getting the error message “Proxy server isn’t responding then this prevents me from gaining access to the internet so this suggestion can not be implemented
Hi, I have two computers one using windows 10 pro 64 bit and the other windows 7 pro 32 bit, It is the later where I am experiencing the error “proxy sever isn’t responding” like everyone else I have tried all of the normal suggestions, unchecking lan setting box.
But still not working, and due to this error it is preventing me gaining access to the internet which means that I can not implement other suggestions. This problem started when I changed to my latest ISP which is BT infinity fibre broad band. when using my previous ISP then this was not a problem. Could this be a possible cause and if so what can I do to correct this.
