We know that everybody has cracked phone 🙂 We are going to disassemble it first to do lcd screen replacement. Also, as we do it, we can learn how to replace the battery for LG G4 smartphone. The owner of this phone had a cracked glass (digitizer), and we decided to change the whole LCD assembly. Let’s get started!
LG G4 Disassembly
Time to disassemble your LG G4 android phone. First of all, remove the back cover with your finger or nail. It will be easy to remove. If it is not easy, you can use a plastic guitar pick. After removing the back cover, you will have full access to the battery. Take the battery out. No matter which phone you work with, always, remove the battery first.
Next step is to remove all the 11 Phillip head screws. After that, use a sharp plastic tool to take out the plastic motherboard protect cover. Do it carefully, otherwise, you will break it.
Remove cables and motherboard
It is now time to remove all the cables, and the motherboard from the LG G4 main frame. There are three cables you need to remove. Front facing camera, back facing camera, and LCD connector from the mainboard. After removing these three cables, you will be able to remove the motherboard. Be-careful, mother board is very thin and weak. So, remove it gently from the main frame.
Transfer cameras, vibration motor, earphone jack, speaker
It is now time to move small components from your old LCD assembly to your new LCD assembly. Transfer all the components that you see including small rubber pieces. As you see, on your new LCD assembly, there is nothing. Let’s start moving all the parts to the new frame.
As you see, all of the existing components have transferred to the new LCD assembly.
Assemble LG G4 again
Once you transferred all the components to your new LG G4 lcd screen assembly, put the motherboard in place. Connect all cables. Install the plastic cover. Tight all the 11 screws back. Finally, put the back cover. You are done! Before you tight all the screws back, make sure the lcd screen works fine, and when it works great, finish the assembly.
