Did you forget your password on Macbook? Don’t worry! I also spent a lot of time this morning to find out my password which I forgot. It happens all the time because we have too many passwords to remember nowadays. Today I’m going to share how to reset the forgotten password on Mac OS X Yosemite. Hope you successfully reset your password through this method 🙂
Step 01. Accessing to Mac Recovery Mode
In order to reset password, We need to boot to Mac OS X Recovery Mode. > Shut down your macbook > Now Press COMMAND + R + POWER button keys at the same time, but Keep pressing and holding COMMAND + R until the Apple logo appears.
Step 02. Once you entered the Mac Recovery Mode, Go to Utilities > Click on Terminal
Step 03. Type resetpassword in the command line. Then Password Reset Windows will be pop up.
Step 04. Select the right Hard Drive and right User Account > Enter a new password and Save it. > Restart your macbook
