I Forgot my passcode! Help! – Here is how to restore your iPhone and iPad with forgotten passcode

 

Don’y worry. Forgetting passcode happens. Fortunately, there is a way to restore your iPhone or iPad. It is pretty easy to do. All you need is your iPhone (or iPad), a cable, and a computer with iTunes. Before we go ahead and try it, we are letting you know that this will remove your current data (pictures, contacts, memo, and etc..) If you are using iCloud sync, then you will be okay because your device will automatically sync with Apple iCloud server. Otherwise, you will loose all the information. Let’s go and do it!

 

How to restore iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus

 

  1. Connect your iPhone X (or iPhone 8) to your computer and run iTunes.
  2. While connect, restart your iPhone X (or iPhone 8).
  3. Press and quickly release the volume up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then, press and hold the side button until you see screen like this:
  4. Restore process will begin on your iTunes.

 

How to restore iPhone 7, and iPhone 7 Plus

 

  1. Connect your iPhone 7 to your computer and run iTunes.
  2. While connected, restart your iPhone 7. 
  3. Press and hold both the side and volume down buttons at the same time. Keep holding the buttons until you see screen like this:
  4. Restore process will begin on your iTunes.

 

How to restore iPhone 6s, earlier iPhones, iPads, and iPods

 

  1. Connect your iPhone 6 (or earlier iPhones, iPads, iPods) to your computer and run iTunes.
  2. While connected, restart your iPhone 6 (or earlier iPhones, iPads, iPods). 
  3. Press and hold both the Home and the top (or side) buttons at the same time. Keep holding the buttons until you see screen like this:
  4. Restore process will begin on your iTunes.

 

iTunes will ask you something like this when you are in recovery-mode:

 

Then, you can click “Restore” button to start restoring. Remember, your information will be removed.
